Is it right for your kids?

Val di Sole is one of the world's great downhill venues, home to World Cup and World Championship racing — and that pedigree shows: the trails off the Daolasa gondola are rated red or black, topped by the World Cup Black Snake. There is no green or blue flow line from the top, so the gondola park is really for confident teens and adults, not first-timers. Younger kids are far better served by the separate valley-floor kids' bike parks and pump tracks (Pellizzano, Marilleva, Folgarida, Commezzadura) with magic carpets and gentle terrain, well away from the main lift.

Good to know for parents

•The gondola-served park has no green or blue beginner trail — the easiest lines (Wild Grizzly, White Wolf) are reds, so a beginner child cannot reliably ride down from the top.
•For young or new riders, head to the dedicated valley-floor kids' bike parks instead: Pellizzano and Marilleva have magic carpets and simple tracks, and several locations (including Commezzadura) have pump tracks near the cycle path.
•Centro Bike Val di Sole at the Commezzadura lift base is the valley's largest rental and stocks children's bikes, plus a cycling school with guides and MTB instructors for courses and lessons.
•Pad and full-face helmet hire is not confirmed online for the kids' rental — confirm protection availability and any minimum rental age directly with Centro Bike (info@centrobikevaldisole.com, +39 334 8575209).
•The 8-seat Daolasa–Val Mastellina gondola gives easy uplift, but plan around World Cup / race weeks when the park is busy and Black Snake may be reserved for events.
