Is it right for your kids?

Klínovec is one of the easier big bike parks for families to love: its signature trail, the 10 km blue "Azur," is a long, lightly descending flow line built explicitly for beginners and families with children, and there's a pump track and skill centre at the top to find your feet first. The operator is clear that this is about riding ability over age — children need to be able to control a mountain bike independently on a road or forest road before hitting the trails. Kids' "Stomper" trail bikes rent in the 6–14 category, so it works well for confident young riders but is not a place for tag-alongs or trailers, which are not allowed on the trails.

Good to know for parents

•Kids' bikes (the 'Stomper') rent in the 6–14 age category; a helmet is included free with every rented bike or scooter, and knee/elbow protectors (200 CZK each) and a spine protector (250 CZK) are sold at the shop.
•Children must be able to independently control a mountain bike on a road or forest road first — kids must wear a helmet on the trails, and bike seats and trailers are NOT allowed on the trails as they are too narrow and twisty.
•Start at the summit skill centre/pump track to test obstacles before committing; the 10 km Azur is the only blue/easy descent, so plan repeats rather than variety for young kids.
•An on-site bike school offers lessons, including children's courses (ages 8–10 and 10–14); teaching always starts in the skill centre/open ground before moving onto trails — book ahead via the reservation system.
•The four-seat 'Prima Express' chairlift returns riders to the trail starts; there's a restaurant ('U Staré Lanovky') and a playground next to it near where the trails begin.
