Is it right for your kids?

If you have a child who can already ride a flow trail, the Silva Trails in Galtür are a genuinely good fit: the green Alpkogel Trail rolls 6.68 km of bermy, flowing descent from the cable car, and Siggi's Base adds a pump track and kid-specific mini-trails for first attempts. The wider Ischgl/Samnaun high-alpine network is more for experienced riders, so treat Galtür as your family base. There's an on-site bike school, but no published minimum age — call ahead to match a course to your child.

•Base your family days at the Silva Trails in Galtür, not the wider Ischgl/Samnaun high-alpine network — Galtür is where the green flow trail and kids' features are; the wider arena is described as remote, high-alpine and far from infrastructure, aimed at experienced riders.
•Siggi's Base at the Alpkogelbahn valley station has a pump track plus the kid-specific Lauser Trail, Tschuttl Trail and Gumpa Jumpline for first attempts without committing to the full descent.
•Alpkogelbahn cable car carries bikes (clean bikes up to 25 kg only); children under 8 ride free and under-19s get a reduced fare — confirm the bike-carriage fee (around EUR 12, or EUR 9.50 repeat with Silvretta Card Premium) at the ticket office.
•The Bikeschule Silvretta Galtür (meeting point at Siggi's Base) runs riding-technique training and Silva Trails coaching, with bikes included for children under 16; no minimum age is published, so call ahead (+43 5443 20046) to match a course to your child.
