Trip notes

Is it right for your kids?

Only ~2 hours from Berlin, Black Mountain in Elstra is the closest real lift-served gravity park to the capital – but it's a small, race-flavoured hill rather than a big family resort. There's one long, gentle Flowline plus a free pumptrack and playground at the base that work nicely for older kids and beginners, while the other four trails are rough, fast and built for confident riders. With weekend-only opening, a drag lift, an on-site bike school and no magic-carpet beginner conveyor, it suits families with already-capable young riders more than absolute first-timers.

Trails to know

Flowline

Flowline

· 1500 m

The park's longest, smoothest line – bermy and rollable with bumps only; the operator flags it as suitable for older children and beginners.

Pumptrack

Pumptrack

· 380 m

Free asphalt pumptrack at the base for first technique laps without buying a lift ticket – the gentlest option for small kids.

Jumpline

Jumpline

· 950 m

Flow-and-style line with jumps, berms and drops – for confident riders, not first-timers.

Good to know for parents

Open only Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays (10:00–18:00), April–November, and weather/event-dependent – check the site before driving.
Minors need a parent-signed consent form (Einvertändniserklärung), renewed each season; bring or print it in advance.
Uphill is a drag lift (Schlepplift), not a chair or gondola – small children may need help managing it; the operator calls it easy and provides a how-to video.
Aside from the Flowline and the free base pumptrack/playground, the four other trails are rated rough & fast and aimed at experienced riders.
The base has a bistro with vegan options and covered seating; the operator notes rental gear is not yet guaranteed (they were still seeking a partner), so plan to bring your own bike and protection.
