Is it right for your kids?

Winterberg is one of Germany's most accessible big parks for families: under-6s can roll the free practice course at the base, and from age 6 kids can ride the park itself, with green flow trails like Fairy-Trail built for first descents. Just note the lift has a 1.25 m height rule for riding alone, so smaller children must be accompanied by an adult on the chairlift.

Good to know for parents

•Park is open to riders from age 6 (operator cites injury risk); under-6s ride the free practice/beginner course at the base with supervision (no ticket needed for that course).
•The chairlift requires a minimum height of 1.25 m to ride alone — below that, children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian on the lift.
•On-site rental is Ghost Gravity bikes in adult, youth and kids' sizes; full-face helmets and knee/shin pads are also rentable.
•Ticket age tiers (2026): Kleinkind 0–5 (Jg. 2021+), Kind 6–16 (Jg. 2011–2020), Jugend 17–18 (Jg. 2009–2010), Erwachsen 19+ (Jg. 2008 and earlier).
•Rock my Trail runs a kids' fahrtechnik course at the park from age 8 (Level 1, 8–12 years; exceptions possible for well-developed 7¾-year-olds) if you want coached progression.
