Trip notes

Is it right for your kids?

Špičák is at heart a natural-tech and downhill park, so it's not an obvious family choice — but a single long blue "Good Year Family Line" now runs from the top to the chairlift, and an independent source says even under-10s can ride it. Pair that with a base skills area, kids' rental bikes and a bike school for ages 8+, and a capable, supervised child can have a genuinely good day; just don't expect a network of green flow.

Trails to know

Good Year Family Line

Good Year Family Line

· ~3.5 km

The one family trail — runs from the top down to the chairlift, rated by the operator as lower/intermediate with benches, waves and rollers; an independent source (mtbczech/kudyznudy) marks it blue and says children under 10 can ride it.

Skill Center

Skill Center

· n/a

Learning area by the lift base with small jumps, small drops and a pumptrack — described by the operator as where beginners and children get the basics first. No official colour grade is published.

Black Friday

Black Friday

· ~2.3 km

Operator-rated intermediate natural trail with berms, jumps and transfers — a step up once a confident kid has the family line dialled, not a beginner trail. No official colour grade is published.

Struggle / Air-Stone

Struggle / Air-Stone

· ~1.0–1.1 km

Operator-rated intermediate-to-advanced technical / north-shore terrain — for experienced riders only, not for families. No official colour grade is published.

Good to know for parents

Realistically only the blue Good Year Family Line (~3.5 km) suits kids — the rest of the park is natural tech and advanced trails for experienced riders.
Rental shop at the lift base stocks 20"/24"/26" kids'/youth bikes (Kona/Propain/Rock Machine); a helmet and lock come free with each bike, and complete protective gear is available for bikepark bikes.
Gravity Academy bike school runs on-site and now teaches children from age 8 — book ahead by phone/email (+420 728 646 418, gravityacademy@spicak.cz); sessions run 9:30–12:30 and 13:30–16:30.
Short summer season (roughly mid-June to mid-September) on a chairlift; a free children's playground (mini bike track, summer tubing slide) and restaurant/refreshments are at the base for non-riding downtime.
