Trip notes

Is it right for your kids?

Bikepark Semmering pairs a properly jumpy, downhill-oriented main park with a genuinely beginner-friendly layer: the operator recommends its easy family trails for children aged 8 and up, and the separate Leopark on the opposite slope has a magic-carpet lift and beginner obstacles for younger or less-confident riders. If your kid is 8+ and has some bike control, the 2.8 km Family Line and the Hirschi Kids Area make for a gentle introduction; the steeper freeride and downhill trails are flagged for ages 10 and over. It is a strong family option if you treat the Leopark and family lines as the day's core rather than the race-focused main descents.

Trails to know

Beginner trails across the road (Bunny very easy, Fox easy) plus an uphill trail, for the youngest riders learning control.

Short easy run near the base, good for building confidence.

Good to know for parents

Minors need a signed parental/guardian declaration of consent for bikepark access — bring/sign it before riding.
Easy/family trails are recommended for ages 8+; the medium and hard freeride/downhill lines are flagged for ages 10+.
Bikes and protective equipment are rented at the valley station via Bikestore Semmering (semmering@bikestore.cc); no kids-specific sizing was confirmed on operator pages.
Younger or first-time kids can use the separate Leopark across the slope, which has a Zauberteppich (magic-carpet) lift and beginner obstacles instead of the main cable car.
The 8-seat cable car is equipped for bike transport and serves the Hirschenkogel (1,340 m) top station; a bike wash is available at the valley station.
