Is it right for your kids?

Lienz is best known as a steep, race-pedigree park (its Welcome to the Jungle black line and World Cup pumptrack tell you who it's built for), but families get one genuinely gentle option: the ~4 km Flow Family Trail runs from the top with built-in Chicken Lines that let riders bypass the jumps. If you have a confident kid who can handle a long blue flow line and you stick to that trail plus the free base pumptrack, it works well; smaller or first-timer children will find the rest of the mountain too steep and technical.

Good to know for parents

•Children under 6 (up to 5.99 years) ride free with an accompanying supervisor; youth day tickets are €31 vs €48 adult.
•The Flow Family Trail is the easiest descent from the top — its built-in Chicken Lines let kids roll past the jumps, so the easiest line is rollable with no mandatory air.
•The free World Cup pumptrack at the Schlossbergbahn valley station is a low-stakes warm-up (osttirol notes children 3+ can ride it with parents' help; under-8s must be accompanied).
•The Dolomitebike Bikecenter at the valley station offers bike rental, a service station and a bike-wash; phone ahead to confirm kids' bike sizes and protection hire (the rental page only lists enduro/downhill bikes).
•Check dates before travelling: the lift runs daily 18 Jun–20 Sep 2026 (then weekends to 11 Oct), and the bikepark operates according to lift operations.
