Is it right for your kids?

Hahnenklee is a small, friendly Harz bike park with a genuinely gentle blue flowtrail and a dedicated kids' practice course, so a confident young rider who can already control a bike will have plenty to enjoy. The catch is the chairlift: children under roughly 140 cm can't ride it solo and must go up with an adult, and the red and black lines are firmly for older, experienced riders. With kids' rental bikes and on-site coaching, it's a low-pressure place to introduce gravity riding.

Good to know for parents

•Chairlift: kids may ride alone only from about 140 cm tall ('ab ca. 140 cm allein'); smaller children ride accompanied by an adult. Under-4s ride free and ages 4–14 are discounted.
•Full-face helmet is mandatory for all minors, and helmet plus mountain bike are compulsory in the park ('Helm- und Mountainbikepflicht').
•Board'n Bikes at the base station rents bikes for adults and children and offers repairs.
•Beginner and kids' skills courses run on site; the 'Frechdachsgang' kids' course is roughly ages 4–7 and is only possible with a parent accompanying.
•You must push/walk your bike from the lift top to the trail starts — riding on the summit paths is forbidden ('Bis zum Start der Strecken muss das Fahrrad geschoben werden').
